Gertrude F. Howe

Gertrude F. Howe, 92, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to the late Virginia Kinsfather June 17, 1927 in Patchogue Long Island, NY.

Gertrude married Walter P. Howe on April 26, 1946, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Patchogue. Walter predeceased her on August 26, 1996.

She and her husband moved to Oneonta in 1952 where she has resided since. Gertrude worked for A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement.

Gertrude was a very hard worker at her job and at home. She attended River Street Baptist Church for a period of time and has always had a strong faith. Gertrude also loved to travel. She traveled to several countries around the world as well as many places in the United States. Gertrude loved to play cards, especially canasta. She also love to go to garage sales and collecting. Gertrude also enjoy her Macaw parrot “Tiny”. Most of all Gertrude will be remembered for her love and support of all her family members.

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Candace Howe (Roger Gilbertson) Oneonta, Thomas Sieger (Colleen Cleveland) Richfield Springs; great grandchildren, Charles Howe, Amanda Johnston, and Joshua Johnston; her special great-great grandson Elijah as well as numerous other loving great- great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Gertrude was predeceased by her son Thomas P. Howe in 2019.

A Graveside Committal Service will take place on Monday, June 15, 2015 in Oneonta Plains Cemetery, with Rev. Stephen D. Fournier, officiating.

To "Trudie's" family-My sincere condolences of the passing of Gertrude. I do remember her from working at Fox Hospital. I remember she was a hard worker and usually had a smile on her face. May the Lord bring you comfort at this difficult time.
