Dad was born June 11, 1922 in Mt. Vision at the Harrison Homestead, the son of Herman Erastus and Libbie (Armstrong) Harrison. Dad was a graduate of Laurens Central School in 1940. He married our mom, Wilma Grace Cornell, on March 3, 1951 at the Mt. Vision United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by Wilma on May 4, 2006.
Along with many years of working on the family farms, Dad was a rural mail carrier at the Mt. Vision Post Office for 19 years. With his experience of delivering mail, he invented what he considered to be the perfect mail box. As with this invention, Dad would spend countless hours tinkering in his workshop, working on new ideas. He was a Jack-Of-All Trades, who many people depended on to help fix things. His other hobbies included taking home movies and working with wood. Dad built our family camp on Arnold’s Lake and six houses.
Dad was a kind, gentle and quiet soul. However, one never knew what to expect, if he was around. Dad enjoyed playing tricks on people. His biggest enjoyment was calling up his family and friends on their birthdays and anniversaries, to play for them on his trombone.
His faith was very important to him. He was a member of The Mt. Vision United Methodist Church for 84 years, holding several offices. He was a past member of the Otego Valley Grange. For many years Dad was superintendent of The Mt. Vision Cemetery Association. He was also a member of The Rural Mail Carriers, Man to Man, and the Mt. Vision Senior Citizens group.
He is survived by his son, Don Harrison (Jeanne) of Maryland, NY; daughter, Joy Gray (Gary) of Oneonta, NY; son, Jay Harrison (Jeanne Conroy) Milford, NY; grandchildren, Jessica Gill (Matt), Jason Harrison (Jessie), Jaden Gray, Terence Harrison, Sara Harrison, Michael Touse (Ellie), Michael Gray (Cathy), Nicole Bowen (Thomas), Joshua Gray (Karyn); great-grandchildren, Owen, Brooklyn, Kellan, Garrett, Griffin, Grayson, Gibson, Jack, Rachel, Claire and Riley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Faith Cornell, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Wilma; his parents; his brothers, Ford and Paul Harrison, and his grandson, Lance Harrison Gray.

Many thanks to the caregivers at Otsego Manor, Focus at Otsego and A.O. Fox NH.
As you can see Dad was certainly involved in many things. He taught us you need faith and patience through life. Dad certainly had his share of obstacles, but he knew how to keep a positive attitude and you could make it through difficult times. We are proud to call him our Dad.
