

He was born April 15, 1921 in Mooers Forks, NY the son of the late Austin and Fern (Shelters) Lamberton.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the China-Burma-India Campaign. As a member of the Greatest Generation, Harold was invite in October of 2014 to participate in the Leatherstocking Honor Flight to Washington DC, where he and his fellow comrades were thanked for their service with motorcades, handshakes, hugs, speeches and tours of National Memorials.
Following his discharge, Harold began working for GLF (Agway) in Canton where he met and married Inez Gertrude “Trudy” Williams on June 20, 1947. Trudy predeceased him on March 11, 2014. Harold retired as a Territory Sales Manager for Agway after 40 years of service. He was also a co-owner with his wife, Trudy of a luncheonette and convenience store “Hal & Trudy’s in Minaville.
Harold loved time with his family and friends for any occasion or no occasion at all. He enjoyed motorcycling and snowmobiling until he was 77 years old and always kept his cars shining. Harold was a fan of the Giants, Yankees and NASCAR. He was busy over the past few years caring for Trudy in her failing health but attended all of the family celebrations they could. There were few things he couldn’t fix. In his roll as House father and man of all work, Harold enjoyed being with his friends at the Otego Highway Dept. and the Otego Fire Dept. throughout his retirement.
Harold was a member of the American Legion, Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department, Otego Volunteer Fire Department, Otego Planning Board, O-T-Go Sno Goers, the Retreads, F&A Masons in Amsterdam, Town of Florida Grange and the Farm Bureau.
Harold is survived by five children, Harold Edwin and Betsy Lamberton, Broadalbin, Gary and Beverly Lamberton, Port Crane, Marlene and Jim Heath, Morris, Deborah and Joe Ingalls, Simpsonville, SC and Michelle Lamberton, Clifton Park; special friends, Rodney and Judy Robinson, Otego; eight grandchildren, Joy Arcolano, Boston, MA, Gary Lamberton, Jr., Glenville, Amanda Shearer, Rochester, Tiffany Englert, Durham, NC, Adam Ingalls, Simpsonville, SC, Mark Ingalls, Simpsonville, SC, John Michalowski, Clifton Park and Nicholas Michalowski, Clifton Park; five step grandchildren, Jason Miller, Anieta Horne, Holly Stonehouse, Amanda Martin and Phala McCormick; six great grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn and Larry Richards, Rock Hill, SC, Janice Sargeant, Mooers, Betty and Lucien Duquette, Zephyrhills, FL, Sandra and Alton Sample, Mooers Forks and Carol and Walter Hamilton, Mooers; sister-in-law, Irene Lamberton; three brothers, Robert Lamberton, Mooers Forks, Richard and Almira Lamberton, Champlain, NY and James and Beverly Lamberton, Mooers Forks; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Donald Lamberton.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 34 River Street, Otego from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with the Pastor Becky Parry officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Otego Fire Dept., River Street, Otego, New York 13825.
