She was born on Jan. 29, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Daley) Mead.
Helen was a member of St. Mary's Church and past member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Susquehanna Senior Citizens Club. Time spent with family and dinners at Brooks' restaurant she enjoyed the most.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Carr and her companion, Peter Krebs of Goodyear Lake and Debbie Lipitz and her husband, Gary of Chenango Bridge; grandchildren, Teresa (spouse, Doug) Webster, Nicole (spouse, Doug), Adam (spouse-Ashley) Lipitz and eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was also predeceased by a sister, Marion Brown; and 2 brothers, Charles and Lawrence Mead.
Calling hours will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 11, at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, at St. Mary's Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Helen's name may be made to St. Mary's Church.
