

He was born January 19, 1928 in New York, NY the son of the late John Alfred and Mary (Hammond) Tedesco.
Following graduation of High School, John enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. After being honorably discharged he began his career in the restaurant business. He was a bartender as several restaurants in Long Island including Lutzen’s in Port Jefferson where he met his second wife, Mary Patricia Heverly. They were married on February 8, 1980 in Port Jefferson. Mary “Patti” predeceased him on March 20, 2008.
John was a lifelong New York resident and was an avid Yankees fan.
John is survived by his two daughters, Jeanne Tedesco and Linda Tedesco both of Coconut Creek, FL; two step sons, Mark Centofante of Utica and Matt and Teresa Centofante of Oneonta; five step grandchildren, Matthew, Jr. and Tina Centofante and their mother, Lisa Centofante, and Kristy, Caylin and Christopher Centofante; two sisters, Gloria Caruso of Los Angeles, CA and Joan Barreiro of Washington; one brother, Raymond Tedesco of Los Angeles, CA; special friend, Madeline Emmitt of Oneonta; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis, Robert and James Tedesco and his ex-wife, Jane Tedesco.
There will be no calling hours and funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons. Memorial donations in John’s name may be made to the Oneonta Salvation Army, 25 River Street, Oneonta, New York 13820.
