

Julia Agnes Georgia, 98, of Binghamton NY., formally of Unadilla NY., passed peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters. She went to be in the arms of Jesus and her loving husband on Wednesday, July 20.
Julia was born in Oneonta on May 29 1918. She married Harold Georgia in Inglewood, California in 1943. He served in World War II and was a prisoner of war so she lived at her parents' home in Oneonta. When he was released in 1945 he had a daughter, Joanne whom he met for the first time. They then moved to Unadilla and settled there to raise their family. In 1978 she came to Binghamton to live with her daughter Dorothy. She remained with her and her family until the present. She enjoyed living her life to the fullest. She loved to travel with her close friend, Georgia Lynch, which ironically was Julia's maiden and married names.
She loved all her adventures they had together. She loved to read and do her word puzzles. Julia loved to go out to eat. She enjoyed her family and always wanted to know what everyone was up to. Her beautiful smile and spirit will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Her family would like to extend their thanks to her doctor, Dr. Liu and her Hospice nurse, Christel and her aides, Alicia and Dixie and special thanks to all the families of her sons-in-law, whom she loved and who loved her.
She was a member of Sts. John and Andrew Church in Binghamton.
She is survived by her 9 daughters, Joanne (Joe) Embury of Tennessee, Barbara Vill of Binghamton, Cheryl Hesco of Binghamton, Martha Orshal of Vestal, Connie(John)Roberts of Nevada, Mary (Bart) Sheldon of Otego, Elaine (John) Casey of Bainbridge; Patty (Gerhard) Schwenke of Florida, and Dorothy (Martin) Kilmer of Binghamton where Julia resided; a son, David Georgia of Binghamton; and a daughter-in-law, June Georgia of Norwich; she had 35 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Julia was predeceased by her husband Harold Georgia in 1968; her parents, James B. and Frances L. Lynch; brothers; Walter, Joseph, and Francis, and their wives; Agnes, Carmen. She was also predeceased by her son, Doug Georgia and her son-in-law, Tom Vill; four grandchildren, Alisha Sheldon, Laura Orshal, Aaron Casey, and Eric Roberts whom she loved very much.
Calling hours will be at Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta on Wednesday, July 27, from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M .. The funeral mass will follow at St. Mary's Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Emmons.
