Les is survived by his sister, Nancy Eichler, and Nieces Linda White and Dyanna Braun. Les and Dyanna grew up together and had a special bond that could never be broken.
Les was a proud uncle to several generations of Nieces and Nephews who all fondly knew him as “Unkie” and is predeceased by his parents, and nephew Andrew Eichler.
Les was proud of his life long career at SUNY Oneonta, where he worked for 38 ½ years in janitorial services. Les enjoyed fishing, and watching and feeding the wildlife in his backyard. He was the family’s own “MacGyver”-he always had a fix for everything. He was famous for his funny cards on all occasions-we all knew who the card was from before we saw his signature.
We want to send a special thank you to the Oneonta Fire Rescue Team and the Doctors and Nurses at A.O. Fox Hospital for their valiant efforts, as well as a thank you to the wonderful neighbors (Cheryl, Grace and others) for lending a helping hand and always watching over him.
Those who know Les, know he hates being fussed over and would rather give than receive. At his request, there will be no services.
To honor Les’ character, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation to Super Heroes in Ripped Jeans, 697 Winney Hill Road, Oneonta, NY 13820 in his name. www.superheroesirj.org/donate
Arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.bookhoutfh.com for the Fisher family.
