Matthew A. Ouimet

Matthew was born on January 3, 1976 in Oneonta, the son of Francis A. and Janet E. (Dent) Ouimet. He attended Oneonta High School and also attended SUNY Oneonta. He was a chef for a time at the Double Day Café in Cooperstown. On his spare time, Matthew loved to go fishing and camping on Crumhorn Mountain.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Francis and Janet Ouimet of Oneonta; his son, Connor Ouimet; his sister, Nathena Ouimet of Boston, MA; and his girlfriend, Jessie Taylor and her son, Kaleb, of Maryland.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Loretta and Larry Place of Laurens, Rosa and Montie Nichols of Unadilla, Don Jump of Masonville, Dennis and Jo Ouimet of Oneonta, Penny and Terry Palmater of North Carolina, Theresa Knowles of Norwich, Christine and David Miller of Davenport, Joe and Robyn Ouimet of Oneonta, Amy and Glen Harrington of Otego, Harriet and Ron Shipman of Oneonta, Mina Austin and Harold Squire of Oneonta, I.G. and Jackie Dent of Oneonta, Charles and Margaret Dent of Oneonta, John Dent of Candor, NY, Ruth and Ira Fyfe of Jefferson, and Ginny and Tom Donnelley of Walton and many, many cousins.

Matthew was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Francis and Theresa Ouimet; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Myrtle Dent, and his aunt, Mary Jump.

Friends and family are invited to visit from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta. There will not be a public funeral service at this time.
