Miguel Cruz Short

He was born September 26, 1990 the son of John L. and Jeannette (Steele) Short.

Miguel graduated from Laurens Central School and then went on to further his studies and graduated from SUNY Delhi. While in high school, Miguel was very active in sports playing soccer and basketball. He also loved playing golf.

For a short time he worked at the All Star Village doing maintenance.

Miguel had a love of the outdoors. He loved going to the family camp, fishing, hunting, and boating.

Miguel enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He had a great smile that could light up the room. Miguel was a beautiful person inside and out; and will be greatly missed by his family and true friends. Rest in peace my love.

Miguel is survived by his parents, John and Jeannette Short of Otego; two brothers, Alexander Short and Kate Simeon of Portlandville and Nicholas Short and Alexis Polin of Otego; one sister, Sarah and Kyle Lorimer of South New Berlin; two nieces, Miesha Neer and Vivian Lorimer; one nephew, Joseph Lorimer; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service to celebrate the life of Miguel Cruz Short will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the 6th Ward Athletic Club, 22 West Broadway, Oneonta with the Rev. Bert More

officiating. Memorial donations in Miguel’s name may be made to the West Laurens Fire Department, 2766 State Highway 23, Laurens, New York 13796.
