

Bob was born on January 15, 1937 in Oneonta, the son of the late Joseph and Esther (House) Lingner. He was a graduate of Oneonta High School, class of 1954.
He was an independent businessman for 55 years, owning Lingner’s Carpet, B & D Chowder Bar, and most recently worked for Five Star Subaru. Bob was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying fishing, hunting, and bowling. He also enjoyed watching all sporting events.
Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, and the Sixth Ward Athletic Club.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lingner of Oneonta; his four children, John (Jackie) Lingner of Palm Bay, Florida, Roberta Lingner of Oneonta, Nancy Lingner and her fiancé, Chris Bowdish, of Delmar, New York, and Deborah (Murray) Cole of Athens, Pennsylvania; and their mother, Betty Lingner of Oneonta; and his grandsons, Casey Connor and Cody Robert Cole.
He is also survived by two step-children, Dennis (Lisa) Trask of Utica, and Lorraine (Chip) Hinde of Fairbanks, Alaska; nine step-grandchildren, including Zoey and Eva Hinde; six step-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Lingner-Butler.
At Bob’s request there will be no public calling hours and funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be arranged by his family at a later date.
