Shirley was born March 29, 1940, in Delhi the daughter of Harlon and Beulah (Truesdell) Briscoe. After high school, she married Edward Slicer. They co-owned and operated a dairy farm in Jefferson, N.Y. She was a hardworking and dedicated to the farm and her family. Many years later she married Larry Eichler and they were caretakers of Mrs. Fallek’s Estate in Bainbridge, N.Y. She then retired to a small farm in Portlandville where she loved being part of raising goats, pigs, chickens, and cattle. Shirley enjoyed traveling, gardening, as well as long walks around the farm.
She is survived by her husband Larry Eichler of Maryland; her mother, Beulah Francisco. Her five children; Wanda Cole, Stephanie Frankel, Diane Chappell, Edward Slicer, James Slicer and their families. Three Stepsons; Graig, Gary, Garth, and their families. Shirley is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; her brother Richard Briscoe as well as four sisters; Barb Miller, Phyllis Heannings, Janice Burdick and Laura Aji. Shirley was predeceased by her son Henry Slicer as well as her father Harlon Briscoe.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice and Bassett Hospital for their support in her final days.
At Shirley’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
