
He was born April 23, 1948 in Painted Post, the son of the late Norman W. and Mary E (Bovaird) Horton. He married Teresa A. Button on July 1, 2000.
Terry was a Health teacher for Bath-Haverling school for a few years before working for Texas Eastern Products Pipeline (now Enterprise) for 39 years and retiring in 2014. He was a business owner, having owned and operated the bar/restaurant Monterey Jacks for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa of Oneonta, son Jeremy “Jay” (Angela) Horton, and grandson, Mason Alexavier, of Painted Post; five sisters: Alberta (Rusty Rider) Colegrove, Grace Caslin, Sylvia Reed, and Beverly Manwaring of Painted Post, and Joan (Pete) Vanderbush of Hope, Michigan; two brothers: Roland (Marilyn) Horton of Vestal, and Steve Horton of Savona; 4 sisters-in-law: Rose (Roger) Wood, Tina (Rodney) Burley, and Sandra Henries of Monterey, and Susan (Scott) Stevens of Painted Post; father-in-law Floyd Button of Monterey; ex-wife, Donna (Clark) Horton of Addison, brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Norman Clark of Painted Post; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers: Norman, Richard, and Melvin; infant sister, Annette; mother-in-law, Shirley Button; brothers-in-law Terry Clark, Joseph Clark, and Will Smith; nieces Pamela Clarkson and Diane Colegrove, and very special nephews, Benji Laughlin and Rodger Colegrove.
At Terry’s request there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life is planned and will commence in the Spring of 2016. The family greatly appreciates the condolences and memories of Terry and his life, how much he was loved, and how he touched so many people.
