
He was born April 6, 1943 in Oneonta the son of Clifford and Letha (Beers) Hulbert.
Vaughn attended schools in West Oneonta, Otego, Laurens and Oneonta.
He worked on the tunnel project in Chicago, IL and on various farms in NY and MA as well as the Otego Lumber Mill and the Village of Cooperstown.
Vaughn enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golfing and fishing.
He was a past member of the Oneonta Moose Club and area softball teams and bowling leagues.
Vaughn is survived by his daughters, Linda (Kenneth) Autry, Holladay, TN and Constance Monath (Pat Renzullo), Patchoque; sons, Michael Hulbert (Nancy Pratt), Amesbury, MA, Craig Dattel, Downsville, Carl (Jill) Dattel, Manassas, VA, Clinton (Brenda) Dattel, Arvada, CO and David (Annette) McGinty, San Diego, CA; 12 grandchildren, Kailey, Corey, Brendan, Delaney, Christina, Tara, Clinton, Alex, Olen, Brittany, Damon and Nicole; 10 great grandchildren; parents, Clifford and Letha Hulbert, West Oneonta; long-time companion, Theodora Gransbury, Davenport Center and her daughters and their families, Mona Buck, Noreen (Leon) Brown, Mary (Roger) Leonard, Dora (Charlie) Fraser; sister, Carla (Paul) Simonds, West Oneonta, brother, Randolph (Susena) Hulbert, Milford, sister-in-law, Janice Hulbert, Naples, FL; brother-in-law, Joseph McAdams, Oneonta; aunt, Pauline Peck, Albion; uncle, Earl (Doris) Beers, Cooperstown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as Linda and Michael’s mother, Charlotte Johnson, Holladay, TN and Fifi and Lizzie. He was predeceased by his wives, Constance Conroy and Sandra Mumbulo Hulbert, son, Stephen Dattel, siblings, Patricia McAdams and Harry Hulbert and nieces, Penny Hulbert and Patricia Dean.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 12:00 PM in the Paige Cemetery, Downsville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Vaughn’s name may be made to either Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, New York 13820 or to the charity of one’s choice.
