Alana Maletta Forbes, age 74, was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on January 11, 2026. Born on November 12, 1951, in Downey, California, Alana lived a life rooted deeply in faith, service, and love for others.
Alana was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elsie and Guy Maletta; her sister, Guyla Clayton; and her brother, Micky Maletta. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Bob Forbes, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. She also leaves behind her cherished children: Jennifer Forbes; Steve Forbes and his wife Candice; and her treasured grandchildren Kenny Sutton and his wife Cheyenne; Brandon Forbes and his wife Breanna; and Guy Sutton, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A woman of strong and steadfast faith, Alana was a dedicated member of Chino First Baptist Church in Chino, California. Her faith guided every aspect of her life and was evident in her kindness, humility, and constant acts of service. She lived her beliefs not just in words, but through daily love and care for others.
Alana served her community faithfully through her work as a librarian at Ramona Junior High School in Chino from 1991 to 2016, and as a reference clerk at the Ontario City Library Main Branch from 1997 to 2016. She loved books and learning, and she found great fulfillment in helping students and patrons discover knowledge, encouragement, and possibility.
Above all, Alana’s greatest passion was her family and she delighted in time spent with loved ones. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, and creating handmade gifts that reflected the love she poured into everything she did. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and quiet strength will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life honoring Alana’s faith-filled journey and beautiful legacy will be held in Chino on February 6, 2026. While her absence is deeply felt, her family and friends rejoice in the assurance that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and hearing the words she lived for: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
