

Born on April 14, 1940 in Pittsboro, North Carolina, to the late Lessie Dark Alston and the late Robert Ross Alston. After graduating from Aliquippa High School in 1960, he joined the United States Marine Corps. After 23 years in the Marines he retired and went on to spend 20+ years at Lockheed Aeronautics. He was also a dedicated and active member of the I.B.P.O. Elks of the World and the American Legion. Throughout his life he was a dedicated and devoted father and husband putting his family first. His infectious smile and kind-hearted nature is what friends admired most about him.
In addition to his parents, Benjamin was preceded in death by his brothers, Issac Alston, Rufus Richardson, and Carl Alston; and sister, Nella Ree Henderson. Benjamin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theola Alston. His 2 daughters Dellria J Alston and Krystel J Alston; brothers, James Alston and Robert Earl Alston; and sisters, Addie Bell Moon and Wilma Alston. He also leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews and his granddog, Maverick.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation on Tuesday, February 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m at Draper Mortuary, 811 N Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA (909) 986-1131. The graveside service on Wednesday, February 14 at 9:45am at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
