Christina Canfield, a devoted mother, grandmother, and longtime respiratory therapist, passed away on August 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a source of strength, compassion, and humor to everyone who knew her.
For more than 40 years, Christina dedicated her career to Kaiser Hospital, where she touched countless lives with her skill and empathy as a respiratory therapist. Her colleagues remember her as both deeply professional and deeply kind—a rare mix that made her indispensable in her work and unforgettable as a friend.
Outside of her career, Christina found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A proud fan of country music, she especially loved listening to Carrie Underwood. She had a passion for traveling, whether embarking on cruises or exploring new places—always confident she could track down the nearest Costco wherever she went.
At home, Christina enjoyed sewing, gardening, and discovering new ideas and inspiration through YouTube. She could often be found tuned into the Cooking Channel, QVC, HSN, or keeping up with the latest reality dating shows. She embraced life with curiosity and a light heart, making everyday routines feel full of warmth and laughter.
Above all, Christina’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved children, Chad Mitchell (Melanie), Aaron Canfield, Derrick Canfield (Evelyn), and Tobi Kanyer; and her adored grandchildren, Serenity Kanyer, Cienna Kanyer, and Ripley Canfield. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in them.
Christina’s life was defined by dedication—to her work, her family, and the things that brought her happiness. She will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her unforgettable laugh, and the way she lived each day with an open heart.
Christina also shared a deep and enduring bond with her longtime partner, Ed. Together they built a life filled with friendship, love, happiness, and laughter. Their relationship brought balance and joy, and they truly made each other complete.
