David was born in Pomona on May 31, 1944 to his loving parents, Jesse and Sarah Gutierrez. He attended schools in Pomona and Chino and graduated from Chino High School in 1962. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he enrolled at Mt. San Antonio College where he took a running class and discovered he had a talent for cross-country running. He loved the challenge and freedom of running through the hills at Mt. SAC and he entered many marathons.
His hobbies included the art of restoring antique cars. He took automotive and upholstery classes that enabled him to perfect his prized vintage cars.
David was an employee of the Chino Unified School District for 29 years. He faithfully worked until cancer forced him to retire.
David was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and nino. He is preceded in death by his father Jesse C. Gutierrez and his sister Teresa Gutierrez.
