

Doug's maternal family has lived in Chino for more than 100 years. There has been a 5 direct generation of graduates from Chino High School. His grandmother, Millie Black (1913), mother, Thelma Sepulveda (1932), Doug (1955), daughter Jackie Hawkins (1983), and grandson Jeffrey Hawkins (2009). Daughter Jamie Stancyk (1985) and daughter Julie Thomas (1980), first graduating class from Don Lugo High School.
After graduation, Doug enlisted in the Navy and during that time he learned his trade as an electrician. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he worked for North West Paper Company in Pomona, the City of Pomona, The City of Yorba Linda, and the City of Victorville, retiring as a Public Works Inspector in 1998.
In 1966 he re-enlisted in the Navy Seabee Reserves Unit, stationed mostly at Port Hueneme in Oxnard. He retired from the Navy in 1996.
He graduated from Chaffey College with an A.S. in Supervision and an A.A. in General Studies.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; daughters, Julie Thomas (Rodney), Jackie Hawkins (Jeff), Jamie Stancyk (Tom); grandsons, Jeffrey Hawkins (Sharon), Thomas and James Stancyk; great-granddaughter, Harley Rose Hawkins; several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Jay Ellington.
A service for Doug will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022 starting 11:15 AM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
