

Elidia was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and dedicated her life to education, serving as a teacher for 30 years. Her passion for reading, especially the works of Danielle Steel, was well known, as was her love for playing with her great-grandchildren and spending time at home with her family.
Elidia was deeply involved in the St. George Hispanic community and was a staunch advocate for education. She was an excellent cook who provided comfort and advice to those around her, and she shared her love generously. Elidia was an extremely loving great-grandmother, filled with unconditional love for all.
Elidia is preceded in her passing by the love of her life, her husband Bonifacio “Barney” Porras.
Her surviving loved ones are brother Ramon Gomez, brother Lauro Gomez and sister Luz Alicia Gomez, her children Ivonne Porras, Manuel Porras and Ralph Porras, Grandchildren Sam Oporto, Shayla Porras, Dakota Trausch and Cheyenne Johnson, and Great Grandchildren Mia Gonzales, Bonnie Gonzales, Cooper Johnson and Dean Trausch.
Her legacy is one of love and strength, captured in her famous sayings like "Dynamite comes in small packages", or loving phrases such as "Dios te bendiga", "Be strong God is with you", and "Te quiero mucho".
Elidia will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
A Rosary will be held at St. George Catholic Church, located at 505 N Palm Ave, Ontario, California, on January 26, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Following the Rosary, a Funeral Service will take place at the same location from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The Committal Service will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W G St, Ontario, California, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on January 26, 2026.
