

At age 5, his mother Mildred moved him along with his sister Lana and brother Elvin to the projects of East Los Angeles.
Emanuel graduated in 1966 from Roosevelt High School. He went on to work at Johnson's Market in Boyle Heights while attending college.
It was there where he met Patricia, the woman who would become his wife. He first earned as Associates Degree from East Los Angeles College.
His college education was interrupted when drafted and served in the United States Army. Upon his return, he earned a Master's Degree in
Business Administration from California State University Los Angeles. He continued to also earn a Teaching Credential in Education.
He worked as an Educator at both East Los Angeles College and Mountain View High School for 33 years before retiring.
Despite his successful professional career, he was most proud of his family. Emanuel married his best friend Patricia,
and they shared over 40 years of matrimony. They had two sons, Richard M. and Troy Emanuel. Daughter-in-laws Patty and Denise and
his greatest joy in life, 6 grandchildren:
