James Allen Roberson was born in Ruston, LA to Ithalean and Raymond Roberson. He was one of five children. His death was preceded by his father Raymond Roberson, his brother Raymond Jewel Roberson, and his sister Ethel Lois Rogers.
James received Christ at an early age and would often spend time with his mother enjoying bible study. He relocated to Texas as a child where he attended Middle School and High School. He later went to college at Claremont University in California where he obtained a Baccalaureate of Art in Computer Science.
James had a natural gift for music. His love for music began at an early age. He began to play guitar between the ages of 5 and 7. He learned to play and master many instruments including lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and vocals. He played with numerous big names and eventually started his own band.
Not only was James a great musician, but he had a brilliant mind. He loved to learn and was always seeking out new endeavors. He shared his knowledge with everyone he could because he loved to teach as much as he loved to learn. He was honest, funny, articulate, loving, kind, compassionate, giving, and a true gentleman. Words cannot express how multi-faceted James’ life was. He went to great lengths to maintain family connections as he had deep love and concern for each and every one of his family members. Some of his hobbies included golf, tennis, and computers.
James spent the last several years seeking the Lord and trying to know Him better. His desire was for his life to line up with the Word of God. He was always seeking and desiring the Lord. James was known to be a counselor and a peacemaker. He gave so much of himself to others that it has been said there was no escaping his love.
He leaves to mourn his mother Itholean Carter, his two sisters Jewel Lewis and Mable Herrera, his wife of 28 years Bianca Maglicova, three daughters Dione Roberson (Gott), Simone Roberson (Prevost), and Belinda Roberson (Arnold), Cousins Roland Richards, Audria Toney (Frank) whom he loved like siblings, Aunt Trudy Howard, and multitudes of other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
