Born June 21, 1944
Entered Into His Eternal Home on November 3, 2010
Chester was born in Troup, Texas to John Wesley Williams, Jr. and Ruby Faye Butler. Family moved to Pomona, California in 1952 where he lived most of his life before moving to San Bernardino, California in 1991 to 2010. Chester attended schools in Pomona, California and completed high school in Los Angeles, California. He attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in his early childhood. Later, he attended Calvary Chapel of Ontario, which later became Calvary Chapel of Chino Valley. In 2000, he made Calvary Chapel of Rancho Cucamonga his home church. Chester’s places of employment were at Potlatch and Simpson Paper Company from 1968 to 1998 and Progress Rail Services from 2002 to 2010. He had many various positions as a teenager and young adult. He was an extremely hard worker and took care of his family well. He worked up to three weeks before his surgery. His wife convinced him to go off of work to get ready for his surgery on September 22, 2010. He had a mass in his right kidney which spread to his liver and colon. He wanted to keep working. He was a great husband and father. His family will treasure every moment they had with him.
On November 3, 2010, at 8:50 a.m. our Lord and Savior called him to his “Eternal Home.” Where he is now rejoicing and worshiping the King of Kings. He is no longer in pain, and he is not suffering anymore. Our Lord did heal him in his timing, not ours. Our Father always knows what’s best. Someday we will be together again. Chester is where we desire to be. He fought the good fight and his reward is with the Almighty Lord and Savior. Sure we miss him and always will, but we can believe that he is in God’s loving care. He is helping Jesus get Mansions ready for us!
Chester was loved by many. He had a great sense of humor and made people laugh. He was also a great cook. He earned the title “Barbecue King.” He made the best barbecue sauce. He enjoyed seeing people eat the meals he prepared. He had a love for boat racing, motorcycle rebuilding, and gardening. He was also a no nonsense kind of guy. He stood up for truth and righteousness. He believed in justice and things that made sense. He was a hero to many, including his children who love him dearly. He will be greatly missed!
He met his wife, Venus in 1988 at Simpson Paper Company. That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. He married Venus in 1990. Their union lasted for 20 years. Out of this union came Daniel. Daniel loves and misses his dad very much. Daniel always wanted to move to Texas to build a ranch there. He may still someday. His dad will guide him from heaven. From a previous marriage came Johnny and Tracy. They love their dad very much, and they were supportive of him and stood by his side.
