Mary Taffora Angellotti, a woman of strong will and unyielding spirit, passed away on August 5, 2024, at the remarkable age of 98. Born on November 7, 1925, to James Taffora and Albina Aulozzi in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Mary lived a long and full life, leaving behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Mary married the love of her life, Alfeo Angellotti in 1947 and shared nearly 70 years together. Their union was a partnership defined by mutual respect, shared determination, and deep affection. Throughout the decades, they faced life’s challenges side by side.
Mary was a force of nature. Her tough exterior and sharp wit were well-known to all who knew her. She had a unique way of expressing herself, never one to shy away from saying exactly what was on her mind. Though Mary’s family often found themselves on the receiving end of her candid opinions and unwavering standards, she had a deep love for her family. She showed her care in her own way, and those close to her knew that her gruffness was often a form of protection, a way of ensuring that those she loved were prepared to face the world with the same tenacity she did.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfeo, and their two children Frank and Michele. Mary is survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember her as a woman who was unapologetically herself. Her life was a testament to the power of resilience, and her legacy will live on in the strength she instilled in her family. Mary Angellotti’s passing marks the end of an era, and while she may no longer be with us, her influence and the lessons she imparted will continue to resonate with those who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Draper’s Mortuary on August 28, 2024, from 4:00 pm til 8:00 pm. Services will be held in her honor at St. George Church on August 29, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Bellevue Memorial Park at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mary’s indomitable spirit.
May she rest in peace, knowing she lived life her way, every step of the way.
