Mike was born on June 9, 1939 in the Netherlands to parents William & Nellie Van Beek. He then entered into rest on May 24, 2026 at the age of 86.
Mike built a life marked by steady work and practical determination, running a successful dairy and later a carwash business. In all he did, he carried himself with quiet humility, preferring a comfortable, well-ordered life and taking pride in providing for those he loved.
Mike met his spouse, Maria, in church, and together they formed the center of a family he deeply valued. His devotion was evident not in grand displays, but in the way he showed up faithfully and consistently.
A man of simple pleasures and genuine enjoyment, Mike liked listening to country & oldies, enjoyed watching soccer, and liked to visit Catalina Island & the mountains. He also loved a good steak or a homecooked meal. He was an avid bowler for a time, and wherever he spent time, he had a natural way of making people smile and laugh, carrying a fun-loving spirit that brightened ordinary days.
In his passing, Mike joins his parents Nellie & William; his brother Simon & his wife Orchid, his sister-in-law Nell; and his brother-in-law Walt.
He is survived by his wife Maria; his daughters Natalie, Joanie, and Michelle and their husbands; his grandchildren Nick, Josh, Matt, Michael, Melanie, Mark, Megan, Justin, and Johnny; and his great grandchildren.
Mike will be remembered with respect and gratitude for his humble nature, his devotion to family, and the easy laughter he brought into the lives of those around him.
