

Richard “Dick” Kenneth Prewitt, 64, passed away November 5th at his home in Fontana, California. He was born August 29, 1948 in Biloxi, Mississippi and lived in California for 16 years. He attended the New Mexico Military Institute and the United States Air Force Academy. He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years and retired as a Lt. Col. After that, he continued his flying career with United Airlines as a pilot for 16 years.
During Dick’s college and early aviation years he also enjoyed mountain climbing, hiking, lacrosse, and racquet sports. In more recent years, he was an avid cyclist and enjoyed radio-controlled airplane flying. Above all, he was a loving father, husband and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack K. Prewitt and Eleanor V. Prewitt. He was survived by his loving wife, Cindy; Sister, Patricia; Sons, Andrew, Jason, and Troy; Daughters, Jill, Leslie, and Bonnie; Grandchildren, Shelbie, Joey, Faith, Anna, Max, Amelia, and Nicholas.
Services will be held Saturday, November 10th at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, California at 2pm. Burial and graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 13th in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the United States Air Force Academy Cemetery at 1pm.
