Robin Lee Barksdale of Chino, California, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep in the early morning of December 7, 2022. He was 59 years old. Robin was born to Joe and Joyce Barksdale in September of 1963 and lived with them in Ontario, California, until 1982, when he moved to Salem Christian Homes, where he lived and was well-loved by their caring staff until his passing. Robin’s family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
He was predeceased by his mother, Joyce, and his brother Ron and survived by his father, Joe, brothers Randy and Jeff, his good friends Amanda and Janice, and his long-time loving caregivers, Diane, Anna, Kathleen, and Jessie.
Robin was born with developmental disabilities and had many special needs, but also many special qualities that endeared him to all those who spent time with him. He loved life much more than most people and was always excited about everything. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Spending time with him reminded you that the best things in life are the simple things like family and friends, listening to music, singing, sharing a good meal, playing a game, or celebrating a special day with others.
Robin will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
There will be a memorial service for Robin on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762.
In place of flowers, Robin’s family requests a donation to Salem Christian Homes, 6921 Edison Ave., Chino, CA 91710. Or online at https://www.salemchristianhomes.org/donate.
