She was an avid reader and had a keen interest in crochet and needlepoint, as well as family history (genealogy research), things she was known to her family & friends as being particularly skilled at. Sandy was also talented at growing orchids, where her patient and compassionate nature showed. In her community, Sandy was actively involved in church groups, contributing her time and talents generously. Her favorite place to be was the beach, particularly Laguna Beach, where she could relax and spend time in nature. She also enjoyed sitting on the beach watching the changing colors of the sunset and listening to the waves break. At Christmas time, she enjoyed making homemade treats, especially peanut brittle and cashew brittle.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Barry, their children Julia and Dan, her cherished dog, Violet, and many other family and friends. Though they will all miss her greatly, Sandy will be remembered for her warmth, simplicity, and the love she shared with her family and community.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Delores (Barth) Joseph; her sister, Annette Joseph, and numerous extended family members.
