Shane Robert Tommer

Shane Robert Tommer, a long time San Bernardino County resident, passed away on June 3, 2015 at Claremont Shelter Care Home in Claremont, California. Shane was known as a kind, loving, considerate, polite man, always with a smile.

Shane was born in Killeen, Texas as Shane Burch on July 24, 1967, he passed just shy of his 48th birthday. The family moved to Pomona, California when he was a year old and then with his mother, he moved to Upland, California attending elementary school and Upland High School. At nine years old his mother married Robert Tommer and Shane loved him so much Shane immediately wanted to change his name.

Shane worked as a cabinet maker and handy man most his life. He loved helping others and being a down-to-earth, red-neck problem solver made him a great handy man.

Shane loved animals, fishing, riding his motorcycle, helping friends and trying to repair what others would just throw away. He did love a good party with friends, especially if fishing and beer was involved.

Shane is survived by his mother and father Debbi & Robert Tommer of Upland Ca. His 4 sisters Elyssa Tommer, San Diego; Kathi Tommer, Los Angeles; Lizzi Tommer Meredith, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Bernadette Tommer Davis, San Bernardino. Brother Shawn Burch, Pomona. Grandmother Bette Bills, Uncle and Aunt Dave & Cindi Brutsman, all of Montclair, Ca; Cousins Adam & Travis. His best life friends, Tom & Christie Brennan & son Andrew.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in Shane's name to any animal rescue or child help organization of your choice. The family of Shane Tommer wishes to thank Tom Brennan & family and His Aunt Trisha for all their help and time so graciously. Also to many other family & friends for helping us survive this and helping and attending the gathering (see below) to honor Shane.

As Shane would of wanted there is no formal service but friends and family are asked to gather on Monday, June 8 at American Legion, 310 Emporia, Ontario, Ca. at 12:00 for a potluck to honor Shane and share stories.

Cremation arrangements and remembrance help are being handled by Draper Mortuary, Ontario, Ca.
