Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, Terry was the eldest of three brothers. He treasured time spent with family and friends and had a deep love for the people in his life.
Terry earned a Business degree from the University of Denver and later completed his law degree at the University of Denver Law School.
He met his wife, Candy, in 1976 while painting pipelines in Rangely, Colorado. They married in 1979 and built a life marked by faith, love, and dedication. Together, they raised three children: Jonathan, Jesse, and Kaitlyn.
Terry lived a life of active service in the church, teaching both children and adults, serving faithfully for many years. Most recently, he was a member of Well Spring Bible Church in Fontana, California.
In 1993, Terry and Candy moved from Aurora, Colorado, to Rancho Cucamonga, California, where they raised their family. They had planned to move to Grand Junction, Colorado, later this month.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Candy, and their three children:
● Jonathan, who lives in Rochester, Minnesota, with Ana Barnes and their twin boys, Collin and Kyler, and Aiden.

● Kaitlyn, who resides in Bloomington, Minnesota, with her husband, Dan Oliva Theveny, and their son, Ashton.
Terry is also survived by his brothers, Duane (Kim) and Stacy (Galina), as well as his nieces: Anna, Amanda and Deidra. A special member of the family, Miao Miao Zhang, who lived with them for three years, was fondly considered his “Chinese daughter.” He was deeply loved by many extended family and friends.
Terry will be remembered for his warm sense of humor, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
A memorial service will be held at Foothill Bible Church, 1330 W. 15th Avenue, Upland, California, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
