

It is with a sense of deep appreciation for his life that we remember Thomas Sidney Shelley, who passed away in Ontario, California, on February 27th, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on June 23rd, 1952, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Tom was a man whose strength, pride, and compassion radiated throughout his personal and professional endeavors.
Tom’s career commenced at Coca Cola, where he devoted 19 years of service. It was here that a chance meeting with Star would lead to a love-filled relationship, ultimately resulting in their marriage in February 1985. Together, Tom and Star built a life enriched with shared experiences and deep affection.
Seeking a vocation where he could more deeply express his compassion, Tom pursued a new direction in the funeral industry. Enrolling at Cypress College to study Funeral Science, he graduated in 1998, eager to embark on this meaningful career path. Over the years, he took on roles as an Embalmer, Mortuary Manager, and Funeral Director, always guided by his innate sense of care for others’ well-being. He concluded his career as an Embalmer, a position that resonated with his desire to provide comforting services to those in need.
Known for his generous spirit and readiness to assist those close to him, Tom’s approach to life was marked by kindness and resolve. When he committed to something, he pursued it with tenacity and excellence, leaving a legacy of achievement and sincerity.
Survived by his loving wife Star Shelley, sister Glenda Frontuto of San Jacinto, California and four children, Mark Anthony Corral of Downey, California, Shannon M. Hall of Ft. Myers, Florida, Thomas S. Shelley Jr. of Pomona, California, and Christa L. Buhagiar of La Verne, California. Also, his eight grandchildren, Alex Shelley, Jason L. Shelley, Kevin S. Hall, Imari L. Guerrero, Eric R. Hall, Victoria L. Tarver, Megan E. Hall, Quinn S. Hall and his two great grandchildren, Alexander H. Shelley and Rosie A. Hall.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762. A reception will occur Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762. A graveside service will occur Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601.
