It is with much sorrow from our hearts that we announce that our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father-in-law Tony Brazil passed into his eternal life on Friday March 23, 2018. Tony was born to Antonio De Sousa & Brites Brasil Sep. 6, 1926, in the Velas on the island of Sao Jorge Azores, Portugal. In the 1950’s he came to the USA and met his beloved Elsie, Mary Elsie Mendes, they were married and became husband & wife on Feb. 1, 1958.
He was a resident of Chino/Corona for 30 yrs where he ran a successful retail business. In addition to being a businessman, he was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and an active member with Chino Valley D.E.S. Club. He retired to Santa Maria in 1988 where he resided for another 30 yrs.
Tony and Elsie raised 3 daughters and a son: Feloria Christakis (John) Lisa Burkey,
Theresa Silveira (Frank) Lee Brazil. In addition to their daughters and son he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Maria Azevedo Brasil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, & brothers, Jose De Sousa Brasil & Fransico, De Sousa Brasil.
A Rosary/Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday April 5th 2018 at Draper Mortuary in Ontario. A Celebration of Life reception will immediately follow the service from 8:00-9:00 pm.
Funeral Services interment will be held at the Santa Maria Cemetery in Santa Maria Friday April 6th at 2:00 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Chino Valley DES Club, America Needs Fatima, & Catholic Charities.
