Bonnie Sue Blankenship, 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She was born on May 1, 1948, in Louisa, Kentucky, to Ralph and Irene (Perry) Poe. As a child, Bonnie moved with her family to the Ontario area, where she would make her lifelong home.
A private and devoted woman, Bonnie’s life centered around her family. She was loyal, hardworking, and dedicated in everything she did. Her strong work ethic was evident throughout her more than 40 years at Jay Plastics, where she built lasting friendships and took great pride in her work.
In her earlier years, Bonnie enjoyed bowling in tournaments and often spoke fondly of those times. She was an avid reader, especially of James Patterson novels, and a passionate fan of The Ohio State University—whether it was football or any Buckeye sport, Bonnie was cheering them on.
At home, Bonnie found joy in simple pleasures—playing Solitaire, working through word searches, baking treats for loved ones, and tending to her beautiful garden. She adored children and loved dogs, especially her faithful pal, Oreo.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Sherrod) Warwick; son, James (Donna) Blankenship, Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon Emery, Miranda Scaggs (Luis), Felicia Blankenship, Brandon (Anna) Kelly, Chelsey Blankenship, Tyler Blankenship, and Kristin Rewkowski; great-grandchildren, Kody, Karter, Noah, Kayleanna, Margot, Charlie, and one on the way; sister, Patricia (Richard) Neuhart; nephew, Matthew (Brenda) Neuhart; great-niece, Mercedes; and significant other, Bill Tharp. She also leaves behind many close friends, dear cousins, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved aunts and uncles, Chet (Vivian), Everett (Helen), Verna (Earl), and Liz (John).
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, with a time of caring and sharing beginning at 5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation in Bonnie’s honor.
Wappner Funeral Directors – Ontario is honored to serve the Blankenship family.
