Carol was born April 15, 1942, to Helen M. Hunt and Thomas J. Crawford. She graduated from Springfield Township School in 1960 and Mansfield General School of Nursing in 1963.
Carol spent her life caring for others. She began her career as a Registered Nurse on the Pediatric Floor at Mansfield General Hospital. She left nursing to care for her own children, Dave, Mike, and Lana. Once a Girl Scout herself, she led her children’s Girl and Cub Scout Troops for over a decade. She supported her family by working as an assistant supervisor of the night shift at Universal Tubular Systems, from which she would retire after fifteen years. As her mother aged, Carol also served as her mother’s caretaker.
Carol was preceded in death by her son, Dave Campbell; both her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Fern Crawford, and Dean and Gerry Crawford; and her parents, Helen and Thomas.
Carol is survived by her son and his wife, Mike and Kristie Campbell; her daughter, Lana Campbell; her grandchildren, Logan, Kallen (and her husband, Bradley), and Kaden; her many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington–Springmill Road, Ontario. The funeral service will be held at Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, Ontario on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Ontario Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Carol’s family and friends kindly request that donations be made to Ontario United Methodist Church and Ohio Health/Compassus Hospice.
