Born May 8, 1949, in Wooster, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Miriam Eileen (Nussbaum) Rutt. She was a Registered Nurse working in the Emergency Department of Crestline Hospital for many years. After her retirement, Cynthia became a “snowbird”, splitting her time between Ohio and Florida. In addition to being her second home, Florida was her favorite place to visit. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Ontario United Methodist Church.
Cynthia was devoted to her family and was very proud of all of them. She was a second mother to her son’s friends. She was committed to keeping her mind sharp and enjoyed reading, puzzles, board games, and crossword puzzles, which she completed in ink! Cynthia enjoyed camping at Auburn Lake and going to craft fairs. Her hobbies included cross-stitching, gardening, keeping in touch through Facebook and trying her luck at gambling. She also enjoyed playing in the yard and watching television: OSU football games and cooking shows were her favorites.
Cynthia is survived by her son, Harold (Patty) Cress; grandchildren, Hunter Cress and Ashleigh (David) Adkins; step daughter, Lisa Taylor; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Eric) Trimble, Jessica Taylor and Mackenzie Taylor; and three siblings, Deborah Stone, Bill (Linda) Rutt and Janice Bowling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ronk; and a brother, John Rutt.
There will be no visitation or services observed. If so desired, memorial contributions in memory of Cynthia may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario is honored to serve the family.
