A man of quiet strength and unwavering character, Donald loved the Lord and lived each day grounded in his values. His devotion to his family was evident on every holiday, birthday, and special occasion—he was always there, with a warm presence, a story to share, or a joke to make everyone smile.
Donald had a lifelong passion for sports, playing many throughout his life and especially enjoying early mornings on the golf course. After retirement, he found new joy in creating beautiful artwork and intricate wood carvings, which he gifted generously to loved ones.
His home and gardens were his sanctuary, a reflection of his care, creativity, and pride. Whether working with his hands or simply spending time outdoors, Donald found peace in the simple pleasures of life.
Even in his final days, Donald remained a source of laughter, wisdom, and strength. He was a hard-working man who gave his best in everything he did.
As one who lived fully and gave freely, his family finds comfort in the words:
“This precious soul forever venturing on I hope to meet you again in paradise.”
Donald is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Rudrick; children, Cathy (Dale) Andorf, Daniel Rudrick, Alan Rudrick and Connie Rudrick; grandchildren, Joshua Andorf, Andrea Rudrick, Nicole Stirp, AJ Stirp and Natalie Stirp; great-grandchildren, Weston Hamman, Nalaya Monroe and Kinslei Stirp. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Backensto.
