H. Jean (MacCartney) Hirtz, 92, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Crestline Nursing Home. She was born in Mansfield, Ohio on June 19, 1933, to the late Thomas and Hazel MacCartney.

She married Lloyd Hirtz in 1950, they shared 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.

Jean worked at ITT in Galion for 30 years. She spent the rest of her life on the farm that she loved in Crestline. Planting flowers, doing crafts, and spending summers with her grandchildren were things that brought her great joy.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Debbie) Hirtz; grandchildren, Aly (Scott Schenz) Hirtz and Christopher (O’dree) Hirtz; great-grandchildren Jacob, Chase, Julia, Scarlette and Remi; great-great-grandchildren, Lily and Violet; siblings, Earl MacCartney, Judi Miller, and Joyce Brunet.

Per Jean’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
