He was born October 26, 1944, in San Jose, California, one of three children of the late Richard James and Iscle Dawn (Story) McCready. Pat grew up in a military family based in La Mesa, California and played football in high school. He graduated in June 1964 from Grossmont High School in La Mesa.
Pat met Janet Powell at a drive in and they married in 1968. He worked his entire life as an electrician. He loved riding his dirt bike and enjoyed classic cars, owning a 1957 Chevy that was his pride and joy. Pat was involved with the Boy Scouts when his sons were younger. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, animals of all kinds and watching the wildlife where he was.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet McCready; two sons, Brett and James McCready; and two sisters, Barbara (Paul) Louer and Pam (Tom) Demo.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
