Sandra "Sandy" Lee Burdine

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Burdine, age 79, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at her residence. She was born September 10, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, the only daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Schultz) Spannagel.

She retired from Interstate Optical. Sandy loved fishing all throughout the state of Ohio and mushroom hunting. She was someone you could confide in, and she definitely could be trusted with a secret. Sandy will be remembered fondly at a kindhearted woman who loved her family and had many friends.

Sandy is survived by a daughter, Robin (Bryan) Spayde; two grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Sigler and Mark Spayde; five great-grandchildren, Damien McCabe, Aleena McCabe, Skylar Spayde, Sophia Spayde and Janet Sigler; two brothers, Ron (Linda) Spannagel and Bill (Verla) Spannagel; close friend, Wayland (Diane) Burge; many nieces and nephews; and several cherished family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fremont Burdine Sr. whom she married on October 14, 1988; and many beloved brothers.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
