She was born on May 26, 1930, on the family farm in Pavonia, Ohio. Growing up on the farm, she was skilled at many aspects of farming and was especially helpful while her brother was serving in the military. The farm is where her love of gardening and flowers was born, which led to her membership in the Pavonia Garden Club. She graduated from Union High School in 1948 and then worked at Mansfield Structural for 55 years. Virginia served on the board of Pavonia Cemetery Association for 79 years.
Virginia wed Dale Jr. Baumberger on June 20, 1953, and they shared a wonderful life together. She enjoyed baking pies and sharing them with others. She loved to cook big Sunday dinners, always making certain there was plenty for anyone who might show up to eat. She was happy to fuss over others but never wanted anyone to fuss over her. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
A woman of great faith, Virginia loved God and believed in the afterlife. She was a lifelong member of Pavonia United Methodist Church and later, Olivesburg Methodist Church, where she was very active in the Sunshine Sisters and the UMW. She spent her life serving God, loving her family, and helping her friends. Virginia was a strong woman who dealt with life head on. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by her son, David (Becky) Baumberger; daughter, Mary Ann (Bruce) Bell; granddaughter, April Baumberger; numerous nieces and nephews; and her lifelong BFF, Joan (Bill) Remy.
