Born on February 21, 1934, to Lewis and Beradina (Deppe) Spellman, Bill lived a life marked by hard work, service, and devotion to family and community. He was employed for 38 years at Ohio Brass, where he worked in Tool and Die, earning the respect of his coworkers for his skill and dedication.
A faithful member of the Lutheran Church, Bill also devoted much of his life to public service. He was a proud member of the Troy Township Fire Department in Lexington, Ohio, for 47 years, serving as Assistant Chief for 25 of those years. His commitment to helping others and his leadership left a lasting impact on the department and his community.
Bill enjoyed camping and traveling, especially to the western states, where he found great joy in exploring the outdoors with his family.
He is survived by his children Richard (Kelli) Spellman, Bruce (Brenda) Spellman, and Robert (Shelley) Spellman; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Spellman; an infant son; his sister, Ruth Leech; his brother, David Spellman; and his parents.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Bill will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Troy Township Firefighters Association, Lexington, OH, the Richland County Humane Society, or the Richland County Dog Shelter.
