

Charles M. Wigle, 88, of DeBary, FL, formerly of Irwin, PA, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012. He was born June 23, 1924 in Larimer, PA to the late Charles M. and Clara Good Wigle. He was a 1942 graduate of Norwin High School in Irwin, PA and a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and attended Penn State University. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army with the 423rd Infantry in Europe. He was a past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #781 in Irwin, PA.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a technologist by Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power in West Mifflin, PA for 40 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Alice McGrail Wigle, a son, Jack Wigle and a sister, Evelyn Lindh. He is survived by two sons, Tom (Charlotte) Wigle of Eustis, FL and David (Carletta) Wigle of Tarrs, PA; and a daughter, Mary Lou (Eric) Brentzel of DeBary, FL; five grandchildren, Linda Wigle of Pittsburgh, PA, Eric (Mandy) Brentzel of Deltona, FL, Jackie Wigle of Deltona, FL, Charlie Wigle of Fredericksburg, MD and Matthew Brentzel of DeBary, FL and two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Derek of Deltona, FL.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 12th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary, FL on Monday, August 13th at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City.
