Darus Paul DeCook, born March 28, 1938, in Rochester, New York, passed away on December 9, 2025. He married Doris Weisner on October 1, 1970, after two years of dating, and the couple moved to Central Florida in 1977. Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He is survived by his step-children, Karen (Luigi) and Katherine (Richard); ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his stepson, Thomas (Deborah).
Paul worked as a truck driver for Penske and cared deeply for his lawn-service customers, a venture he pursued for many years. His passions included attending church services, his lawn service, cruises, and collecting Hess trucks.
A kind and devoted family man, Paul will be remembered for his generosity, work ethic, and love of life. May he rest in peace.
A visitation will be held on December 16, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same venue from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm. A committal service will be conducted at the same location from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
