Dorothy Ferguson

Dorothy Ferguson, 92, passed away on October 6, 2015 in DeLand, Florida. Dorothy was born on October 6, 1923 in El Paso, Texas to the late Mack Kennedy and Veina Taylor. She grew up in Texas until her family decided to move to Ohio. Dorothy continued her education there and graduated from Lake Erie College. After graduating Dorothy became a Public School Teacher for first graders and Special Education students. After spending over 15 years of her life teaching, Dorothy retired and moved down to Central Florida.

Dorothy was a member of Madison Methodist Church in Madison, Ohio as well as being a member of several different Bridge groups and P.E.O. (Professional Educators Organization). In her retired life she enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid golfer.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband William who passed away in 1995, her parents Mack and Veina Kennedy and her sister Betty Crawford. She leaves behind her daughters Barbara Shappell of Columbus, Ohio and Sharen (Fred) Corrigan of Deltona, Florida along with her grandchildren Davin Corrigan of Deltona, Florida and Abria Corrigan of Winter Park, Florida. Dorothy will be missed dearly by all who had the opportunity of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in El Paso, Texas at a later date.
