

E.B. was born on March 13, 1926 in Cheraw, South Carolina, the son of Charles and Rilla Thompson Hopkins. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church in Orange City, Florida. He retired in 1981 from the Telephone Company after 32 years of service. He loved to fish and enjoyed doing woodworking and spending quality time with his family.
He is survived by a son, Buddy (Terri) Hopkins, three daughters, Diana Andrews, Marsha Hopkins and Kim (Tony) Johns; two sisters, Janie Taylor and Josie Coates; eight grandchildren, Christine Neusch, Bryant Love, Michael Hopkins, Christopher Holloway, Tony Johns, Jr., Danyelle Love, Katrina Sergent and Michael Van Epps, Jr.; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kristin Andrews, Andrew Neusch, Jr., Emily Neusch, Travis Love, Katie Lynn Love, C.J. Duval, Sabriena Reid, Jordan Sergent, Jasmine Johns, Hailey Sergent, Katelynn Johns, Hunter Wooten and Ashley Huffman Johns and one great great-grandchild on the way.
E.B. was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Edna Hopkins, one daughter, Roxana Jane, two brothers, James and Charles Hopkins, Jr. and two sisters, Lil Maude Lowrimore and Irene West.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 9th from 11 am till noon at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida, PH: 386-775-4260. Funeral services will be held at noon at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens in DeLand, Florida.
