Gabriel Michael Konecsny

Gabe graduated from Cathedral Latin High School and received a BS in Accounting from John Carroll University. Gabe served his country as a Captain in the US Army until 1965. Gabe had a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant spanning many decades. He was a lifetime member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and a past member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Accountants (AICPA).

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather, Gabe truly believed in service to his community and church. Since retirement, he has spent time volunteering for various organizations: The Lions Club of Viera, FL, John Knox Village of Central Florida Residents Council, Assistant Treasurer for John Knox Village Foundation and many other organizations in the communities in which he lived. In his church, Gabe was a member of the Knights of Columbus-4th Degree. He also served on the Finance Committee of St. Ann’s Catholic Parish. Since the 1970s, Gabe served as a Eucharist Minister, most recently at St. Ann’s.

Gabe was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Marilyn B. Konecsny. He is survived by their six children; MaryAnn Diamond, Michael (Linda) Konecsny, Marlene (Mark) Schwarzmann, Michelle (David) Berganini, Mark Konecsny and Melissa (Michael) Hall.

Gabe is survived by his wife of 13 years Judith (Osler) Konecsny and her two children, Cynthia (Norman) Briceno and Ryan (Elizabeth) Osler.

Gabe is also survived by his sister Barbara (Jack) McHale and 14 grandchildren; Holly, Alyssa, George, Erin, Matthew, Katlyn, Anthony, Kelli, Danielle, Zachary, Kelsey, Isabella, Victoria, and Reagan who will miss him dearly.

A viewing for Gabe will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Parish, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary, FL 32713, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm.
