Mr. DeWeese was born on August 13, 1926 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, the son of George and Margaret Minshall DeWeese. He was united in marriage to Mary Lewis for 39 years. He served in the United States Navy. George was retired from Armco Steel Company in Ohio with over 32 years of service. He was a member of the Open Bible Baptist Church. He loved to feed squirrels. He loved football and basketball and especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Mary; two sons, Jeff DeWeese of Jefferson, OH and David DeWeese of Holly Hill, FL; two daughters, Phyllis Campbell of McCarther, OH and Mary Jane Jordan of Chillicothe, OH; two stepsons, Joe Pierce of Columbus, OH and Garry Pierce of Orange City, FL; a stepdaughter, Debbie Bongiovanni of Texas; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Louella Roberts of Florida, Rose Brannon of Ohio and Joyce Randolph; several nieces and nephews.
