

He succumbed to his four year battle with cancer on July 3, 2011. He was in his home surrounded by his loving family in Deltona, FL when the lord took him away.
Hovsep was born on February 10, 1943 in Latakia, Syria to parents, Mehran and Marie Hovsepian as their first born son. As a youth, he enjoyed outdoor activities, such as fishing, hunting and days at the beach, as well as being an avid cycler. He had a strong work ethic and took great pride in his creative abilities. He started working at an early age, as school was not the direction he enjoyed. He apprenticed as a jeweler and eventually became a skilled jeweler and jewelry model maker. He owned and operated his own jewelry shop in Beirut, Lebanon, before getting married to his sweetheart, Arpine Jerajian on November 22, 1970 in Beirut, Lebanon. He moved overseas to the NY/NJ area, where he held positions in reputable jewelry companies like David Webb, Tiffany’s and Carven French in Manhattan, NY before opening regal design jewelry in Monroe, NY. He then moved to central FL in 1996 and worked for Orlando Jeweler’s in Orlando, FL. His favorite way to spend his time was with his family at his home eating good food and enjoying the simple things in life while watching the grandchildren grow..
He is survived by his loving wife of forty one years, Arpine in Deltona, FL. His three sons, Mehran “Mike” a NC resident along with Boghos “Paul” and Raffi both Deltona residents; his four grandchildren, Kendra, Devin and Paul all residing in Deltona and Joey in Lake Helen. He is also survived by his younger brother, Moses Hovsepian, who resides in NJ, as well as his two daughter in-laws, Lauren and Cindy.
Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, July 7th at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL 32763., PH: 386-775-4260. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6th from 6 - 8 pm. Entombment will immediately follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City, Florida.
