

Vinny was born January 29, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, a son to the late Rocco and Anna Molinari Campanale.
He spent most of his life in New York City, New York, retiring from management in 1980 with the New York Sanitation Department. Thereafter, he worked at Best Way Foods until he retired again. He married the love of his life, Margaret Schmelzer, in 1954 and together they raised three wonderful sons and traveled extensively after retirement. Vinny and Marge traveled and enjoyed over 50 cruises. Vinny and Marge moved to Casselberry, Florida in 1984 and then in 2000 they moved to Deltona, Florida. He was a wonderful provider for his family and on his spare time throughout his life, he enjoyed handball. Vinny will be most remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Margaret; three sons, Rocco Campanale of Deltona, James (Donna) Campanale of New York, Leonard (Diane) Campanale of Connecticut; two sisters, Mary Cioffi of New York, and Margie (Sonny) Kropfl of California, seven grandchildren, Danielle (Michael) Weddell, Stephanie (Kyle) Michaels, Jackie Campanale, Richard (Mish) Campanale, Christine (John) Pawlowski, James (Franzi) Campanale; 13 great grandchildren; a special son-in-law, Angelo Villani and grandson-in-law, Harry Bonhomme.
In addition to his parents, Vinnie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Bonhomme; and four siblings, Angie Villani, Leonard C. Campanale, Rocco Campanale, and Lucy Zankl.
A Funeral Service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home; 1295 Saxon Blvd.; Orange City, Florida with Pastor Mike Caroline officiating. Visitation will be from 2 pm – 6 pm prior to the service.
