

Born November 23, 1947, in Winchester, Virginia, Jean was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She proudly graduated from Loudoun Valley High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Virginia College. Jean served her country with distinction as a member of the United States Navy, where she worked as a Laboratory Technician, a testament to her meticulous spirit and quiet strength.
Her professional path continued with a career at Quest Diagnostics as a Phlebotomist, where she touched countless lives with compassion and care. Beyond her work, Jean cultivated a generous life centered on family, friends, and community. She had a lifelong passion for gardening, a generous heart that enjoyed helping others, and a deep love for her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her husband, Gary Thornhill; her son, Hillory and his wife Amy Thornhill; and her two cherished grandchildren, Lucy and Daisy Thornhill. She is also survived by her siblings, James Glascock, Diana Christensen, and her twin sister Joan Hope.
A gathering of friends for Jean will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. A reception will occur Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
