Jeffrey Bryan Kemp, 76, of Deltona, FL formerly of Canton, OH, passed away on May 19, 2018. Jeff was born on April 12, 1942 in Canton, OH to Eugene and Naomi Kemp. Jeff spent several decades at the top of his profession as a chief engineer where he crisscrossed the United States and travelled overseas. Along the way, Jeff launched the careers of many people who once called him boss, but for a lifetime have called him a friend. Jeff’s tireless work ethic was matched with an equally energetic pace when it came to entertaining friends or taking family on vacations. Some of his family and friends have emulated his quick wit and sarcasm that often came with a smile and a peek from his dimples hidden behind his beard. The bane of his existence, while his kids were young and accident prone, was drinking straws, Oreo’s, and powdered donuts. Semi-retired, Jeff was a member of the local Moose Lodge and spent additional spare time assisting his wife rescuing cats and kittens in the Deltona, FL area. Early in his life Jeff was an Eagle Scout, he spent a few years driving tractor trailers, and he had a pilot’s license. Jeff is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rose. Though they did not have any children together, Jeff is survived by five children from his previous two marriages. Tammy Reuter, Marcia (Trace) Thomas, Scott (Holly) Kemp, Stephanie (Matt) Penney, and Chelley (Matthew) Gastineau. Jeff is also survived by seven grandchildren, Vince Reuter, Wyatt, Madeline, and Luke Penney, and Elijah, Seth, and Jacob Gastineau. Jeff is survived by siblings, Tim (Bonnie) Regula, Louise (Fred) Dietz, and Tom (Maryjo) Regula. A small beachfront ceremony is being planned for Ormond Beach, FL in the coming days. A celebration of life is also being planned for early summer in Canton, OH.
